This is it, we are in the last matchday of the Brasileirão, and the teams at the top are fighting to catch up to Palmeiras.

We are, however, focusing on a team that is trying to keep themselves a solid spot in the Libertadores group stage, as Grêmio will be unable to tie for first place, even if the leader gets a loss. Notwithstanding, they just managed to steal the 4th spot by leaping over Botafogo by one point.

They are going to face Fluminense, a dangerous local who wants to finish the season positively, although they are not fighting for anything important. It’s important to remember that they are Copa Libertadores’ champions, so they are qualified, whatever the case.

Not having pressure on their shoulders does not guarantee that they’ll just let the visitors get past them to secure their spot. So, expect this match to be exciting as we see one team go all in and another just trying to make it a long night for the other.

Fluminense will avoid repeating what they did in their last game after losing against Palmeiras, 1-0. They are good locals but, as said before, they are the Libertadores’ current champions, so their qualification to the top South American competition is assured.
