Stuttgart will probably not fight for the chance to be Bundesliga champion, but on the 19th matchday, they got a massive result to think about qualifying for the next Champions League, defeating Leipzig 5-2.

In the duel between the third and fourth in German soccer, the first goals were scored by Stuttgart, who made their fans scream with goals by Enzo Millot, on penalty, and Deniz Undav, with a shot at the right post. Benjamin Sesko pulled one back in the 32nd minute, while Jamie Leweling added a third to the locals when he tapped in a header from Joshua Vagnoman.

Loïs Openda made it 3-2 in the 55th minute, but Undav rounded off his great performance with two more goals in the 56th and 75th minutes.

Bayer Leverkusen had been flirting with a draw in the last two fixtures, and on matchday 19, it came to pass, as they were held 0-0 at home by Borussia Mönchengladbach.

On the weekend that the rumors linking Xabi Alonso with the Liverpool coaching job began, his team’s performance had a gigantic drawback: a lack of efficiency.

They took 28 shots, eight of them on target, but on no occasion did the Gladbach goal end up being breached.

Leverkusen now look down on all rivals with 49 points, two more than Bayern München, who won 3-2 away to Augsburg. For their part, Gladbach is in 12th place with 21 points, nine points above promotion, and 10 points ahead of direct relegation.
