Two teams with an excellent start to the season, and good campaigns as of late, face to keep their momentum going and stop the other. San Luis and Tigres will clash for a weird mid-week date, where some of the games from matchday 4th will be played in advance. Let’s remember that matchday 3 is due this weekend.

Whatever the case, this is the most relevant encounter in the middle of the week. San Luis comes from just beating Pumas with an excellent display at their home stadium, the same that will serve as the scenario for this game. Meanwhile, Tigres also passed its first top test of the season, beating Chivas 1-0.

Why Bet on San Luis?

The Potosinos have been one of the most surprising teams in Liga MX from last year’s two semesters. The club, accustomed to being at the last positions of the table, gave a complete turnaround, reaching the postseason two times in a row. They achieved their all-time peak at the first compases of the Apertura MX 2023, leading the table for almost half the season.

However, as we all know, their level fell from a cliff in the second half of the regular phase, losing almost all their games and reaching the end with the danger of falling from the qualification spots entirely. Nevertheless, they survived and reached the semifinals after eliminating none other than Monterrey.

In their last match, they faced a hard time against Pumas, who had them glued to their net with twenty dangerous chances. However, this team knew how to be effective, and just four shots on target ended in three goals by Bonatini, Selles-Lamonge, and Galdames.

Why Bet on Tigres?

Tigres was on the way to winning an unlikely double, reaching two finals in a row. We said that, as the Clausura MX 2023 regular season was disastrous for the team, but they managed to recover in a great way at the end and lifted the trophy. Last season, they were a much better and regular team. However, AmΓ©rica outclassed them by all means in the second leg of the finals, and that’s quite the moral-lowering result.

Notwithstanding, they have been good this season, with solid displays in both of their first two games. Their debut against LeΓ³n was a hilly one, as they had to make a comeback after Mena opened the score for the locals in the second half. Goals by Cordoba and the unperishable Gignac took the chestnuts out of the fire.

In the second match, they had another tricky test in front of Chivas. However, at their home, they managed to lower the tempo of the game effectively, with just three shots on target between the two teams. Precisely, the solitary good shot by the locals encountered the back of the net, showing 100% effectivity.

Final Betting Analysis: San Luis vs. Tigres

These two projects seem well prepared for the new season, but sadly for them, they’ll face in the early stages. In the overall stats between the two, Tigres has plenty of advantage with fourteen wins, in front of five from their rivals, and eleven ties. However, as we said before, San Luis is a different team now, and they even managed to evade a loss with this club last year, getting draws in the two matches they had.

It seems tricky to bet for this kind of streak to continue, and Tigres looks like a better team as a whole. Notwithstanding, San Luis will have the home ground in their favor, so we believe they’ll have to settle with a 2-2 draw.

Go for a draw at 3.54. If you bet $100 at such odds, you could get $254 for a total payout of $354.
