Led by a brilliant Lionel Messi, Inter Miami finally smiled again after a five-game winless streak, where they were eliminated from the Concacaf Champions Cup.
The Florida team’s victim was Sporting Kansas City, while another team that was able to recover was LA Galaxy, which defeated Vancouver Whitecaps, who were on a good run.
The club that could not take advantage of their momentum was the NY Red Bulls, who were held to a draw at home by the Chicago Fire. On the other hand, Philadelphia Union rescued a point in their visit to Atlanta United, but could not take the top spot in the East.

Despite playing at home at the Red Bull Arena, the NY Red Bulls could not overcome the Chicago Fire and ended up drawing 0-0.
Although the ball was on the visitor’s side, the best goal chances were on the side of the Big Apple team, with up to five shots inside the posts, but with no luck to inflate the net.
With this parity, the Red Bulls could not usurp the first place in the Eastern Conference, as they have 15 points, the same as Inter Miami. Meanwhile, the Chicago Fire is 11° in the same division.

After several consecutive blows, especially the elimination from the Concacaf Champions Cup against Monterrey, Inter Miami returned to smiles and did it as visitors, beating Sporting Kansas City 2-3.
Although the home side took the lead with a goal by Erik Thommy, Lionel Messi set up Diego Gomez with a great pass, and the Paraguayan inflated the net with a first-time shot in the box. Messi made it 2-1 with a great mid-range goal (51′). Sporting equalized with another Thommy’s goal (58′), but Luis Suárez scored the 2-3 after an accurate pass, with a previous steal, from Gómez.
Inter put their five-game winless streak behind them to reach 15 points from nine games and lead the East and MLS. Messi reached five goals and Suárez six, being one of the league’s top scorers alongside other four players.

LA Galaxy recovered from the loss in the derby against LAFC and defeated Vancouver Whitecaps 1-3 as visitors to reach the 15-unit mark in the Western Conference.
After a scoreless first half, Serbian Dejan Joveljic opened the account at 56′, taking advantage of a rebound by the rival goalkeeper. Although Brian White equalized in the 77th minute, Joseph Paintsil scored the second in the 80th minute, firing a cross from an assist by Riqui Puig, while Diego Fagundez closed the score with a pass from Paintsil.
LA Galaxy continues to be the best attack in their conference, scoring 17 goals. Vancouver was left with 13 points, two less than their rivals. Jovelic reached six goals and is another of the scorers of the championship.

Atlanta United and Philadelphia Union played one of the best matches of the day, drawing 2-2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In the second half, Atlanta scored the first goal at 55′ with a header by Daniel Ríos after a cross by Thiago Almada. Eight minutes later, Caleb Wiley celebrated the second with a shot from half distance. The victory seemed certain for the home team, but in the 73rd minute, Mikael Uhre scored from a defensive gift, and in the 77th minute, Kai Wagner equalized with a shot from the midfield.
Philadelphia could not reach the top of the East and is third with 13 points, while Atlanta is sixth with 11.
