Manchester United made their temple, the mythical Old Trafford Stadium, respectful after winning 2-0 against Everton.

However, this does not mean that the visiting team did not have chances to get into the game and even score several goals, as they generated 23 scoring chances, with six shots on goal. However, United’s defense could repel each offensive from the visiting team.

The Red Devils’ siege began from the start of the match, and this resulted in a foul inside the box, which was converted into a goal by Bruno Fernandez through a penalty in the 12th minute.

United then continued to attack Everton mercilessly and, again through a shot from the penalty spot, but at the feet of Marcus Rashford, the home team put definitive figures to the match.

Both teams continued to attack intensely but without doing any damage.

One of the most surprising results of the day was Tottenham’s 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa at Villa Park.

On the eve of the game, the match was expected to be rough and, above all, hard-fought. However, the Spurs displayed an exceptional level of play in the second half and took advantage of John McGinn’s sending-off in the 65th minute to annihilate the Villains.

After a 0-0 draw in the first half, we all thought that the predictions of a balanced match would be fulfilled. However, Tottenham started the second part with everything and scored the first goal in the 50th minute through James Maddison. Then, just 3 minutes later, they struck for the second time with a goal by Brennan Johnson.

As we mentioned, in the 65th minute, Aston Villa’s McGinn was sent off, so from that moment on, Tottenham went on the attack. However, it was not until the 90+1′ and 90+4′ minutes that Son Heung-min and Timo Werner, respectively, scored the third and fourth goals.

Result: Aston Villa (0) – (4) Tottenham

The most interesting match of the day, Liverpool vs. Manchester City, did not disappoint and left many emotions from start to finish. However, the teams couldn’t get ahead of each other in the table, as they ended with a 1-1 draw.

As expected, both clubs started the encounter with the determination to score an early goal to put more pressure on the home team. However, they did not neglect their defense, being aware of their opponents’ offensive abilities.

City went ahead in the 23rd minute, thanks to John Stones’ goal. That undoubtedly gave the Citizens the determination to keep pushing to score the second and have more peace of mind. However, Liverpool held on and were able to finish the first half with a score of 0-1.

Then, at the start of the second half, Alexis Mc Allister scored the definitive 1-1 through a penalty, after a hard foul by City in their area.

From this moment on, we enjoyed an exceptional back and forth, but with the teams taking great care in defense to avoid leaving spaces for the lethal opposing strikers to exploit.
