We have a Liga MX champion! Pachuca beat Toluca in the second leg with a score of 3-1 to finish with an overall score of 8-2, a historic figure in Mexican soccer.
With this title, the Tuzos win their seventh in their history, making it the club with the most championships won since the creation of the short tournaments.
Everyone thought that Pachuca would come out to defend instead of playing an offensive game in this match, but the opposite was true. The Tuzos went out from minute 1 to crush a Toluca team that was becoming increasingly blurred on the field.

As we predicted in our preview of this match, the Tuzos del Pachuca achieved a 3-1 victory over Toluca to be crowned for the seventh time in their history in the first division of Mexican soccer.
Mexican Víctor Guzmán and Argentines Nicolás Ibáñez and Gustavo Cabral scored goals for the Tuzos, while Raúl López scored for Toluca.
After losing the first leg 1-5 last Thursday at the Nemesio Diez, Toluca came out to play this game hoping for a miracle, scoring a goal every 20 minutes without conceding any.
Similarly, Pachuca started the match with an impressive pace, creating two clear scoring chances in the 9th and 13th minutes, through Ibañez, the tournament’s leading scorer, and Erick Sánchez, respectively.

Guillermo Almada’s men went into the break motivated, had a pleasant talk in the dressing room, and, in the second half, put an end to the few hopes that Ignacio Ambriz’s men had of a comeback.
In the 51st minute, a prefabricated play allowed Nico Ibáñez to take revenge and score the 2-1 goal that increased the overall advantage to 7-2 and put his team on its way to the seventh championship in its history.
Finally, Pachuca put the game to bed in the 75th minute, when Gustavo Cabral took an effective penalty kick.
