Most of the favorites fulfilled their formalities, and the round of 16 of the Champions League has been defined, with the most tightly contested match being the one in which Atlético eliminated the current finalist, Inter, in a great series defined on penalties.
Real Madrid did not have an easy time against Leipzig, but at home, they were able to secure their ticket with a draw in a controversial game. Bayern München returned to its best to beat Lazio in Germany, while Barcelona dispatched Napoli convincingly in front of its home crowd.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, the leader in the Premier League, also suffered a lot but managed to eliminate Porto from the penalty spot.

Bayern München’s doubts in the Bundesliga were put aside in the Champions League, and with a 3-0 win, they defeated and eliminated Lazio, who had won the first leg 1-0.
The first goal came in the 38th minute when Harry Kane headed the ball into the back of the net. In first-half stoppage time, Thomas Müller scored the second when he slightly touched the ball with his head after a great crossed-shot of Matthijs de Ligt following a corner kick, while the cherry on the cake came from Kane himself when he took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper (66′).
The English striker confirmed his status as one of the tournament’s top scorers with six.

At home, Real Madrid suffered a lot but managed to eliminate Leipzig with a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabéu, making the 1-0 win in the first leg profitable.
After a combination with Jude Bellingham, the Brazilian Vinícius entered the area and, with a cross-shot, opened the account in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Willi Orban headed the equalizer for the Germans, who had several chances on Lunin’s goal.
One of the most controversial moments of the night was Bellingham’s foot strike on Orban, which was not sanctioned as a foul on the Englishman, but on the Hungarian, and possibly should have been a red card for the Real Madrid player.
The Casa Blanca remains undefeated in Europe’s top tournament, winning seven games and drawing one.

Barcelona returned to the Champions League quarterfinals four years later. In front of their home crowd, they overcame Napoli 3-1, and with a 4-2 aggregate score, they are now among the top eight in Europe.
After 15 minutes, Fermín López broke the deadlock by sending in a cross from Rapinha, who shot two minutes later and hit the post, but Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo appeared to send the ball into the back of the net. Defender Amir Rrahmani scored the equalizer in the 30th minute when he broke away, got into the box, and beat Ter Stegen with a first-time shot. However, Robert Lewandowski made it 3-1 in the 83rd minute after an assist from Sergi Roberto.
Barcelona have never lost to Napoli in their history.

Atlético de Madrid is known to be a powerful team at home. They beat Inter 2-1, and in the penalty shootout, Jan Oblak was a giant for the Colchonero to win 3-2.
Federico Dimarco opened the account in the 33rd minute with a good counter featuring Nicoló Barella as the driver. Two minutes later, Antoine Griemzann equalized by taking advantage of a rebound left by the Italian team’s defense in the area. Finally, in the 87th minute, Memphis Depay made it 2-1 to send everything to the penalty shootout.
Jan Oblak saved the spot-kicks from Alexis Sánchez and Davy Klaassen, while Lautaro Martínez shot wide.
It was a great match, with incredible chances missed by both sides. Marcus Thuram (Inter) and Rodrigo Riquelme (Atletico) missed clear chances that could have defined the game before the aggregate.
