Visão geral da equipe
Arizona is rebuilding, and the market has priced it accordingly. The Cardinals went 3-14 last season, finished last in the NFC West and lost their final nine games, six of them by three scores or more. That collapse cost Jonathan Gannon his job and brought in Mike LaFleur, who spent three seasons as offensive coordinator of the Rams. Nathaniel Hackett runs the offense, Nick Rallis the defense.
The quarterback room was torn down and rebuilt. Kyler Murray was cut in March and is now in Minnesota. Jacoby Brissett, who threw for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns but went 1-11 as a starter, held out through the entire offseason program before reporting on a reworked contract, and he projects as the Week 1 starter with Gardner Minshew II and third-round rookie Carson Beck behind him. Arizona spent the third overall pick on running back Jeremiyah Love, who joins James Conner, Trey Benson and free agent addition Tyler Allgeier in a crowded backfield. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride remain the real talent on this roster.
Análise da linha ofensiva
Arizona gutted this unit and has not fully replaced it. Jonah Williams, Kelvin Beachum, Will Hernandez and Evan Brown all departed, taking both veteran tackles, a starting guard and the center out of the room in a single offseason. Paris Johnson Jr. anchors the left side and is the one settled piece. The Cardinals used their second-round pick on guard Chase Bisontis and added tackle Jayden Williams in the seventh, which is a lot to ask of rookies in a division that features Myles Garrett, Nick Bosa and Leonard Williams twice each. Protecting Brissett was already the problem last season. It is harder now.
Análise da Linha Defensiva
The same pattern repeats here. Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson and Bilal Nichols all left, stripping this front of its veteran interior. What remains is young and unproven. Walter Nolen, the 2025 first-round pick, was hampered by injuries through his rookie year and showed what Arizona hopes he can be only once, in a Monday night win over Dallas in November. Darius Robinson needs to take a step in year three. Rallis inherits a defense that finished 29th in scoring, ranked 20th in generating pressure, and gave up the third-most passing touchdowns when it did pressure the quarterback. Getting Nolen on the field for a full season is the single most important thing that can happen to this unit.
Temporada da NFL de 2026
Semana 1
Cardinals at Los Angeles Chargers | Sunday, September 13 | 4:25 PM ET | SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
Arizona opens as the biggest underdog on the entire Week 1 board. The Chargers are listed at -11.5 and -625 on the moneyline against the Cardinals at +455, with the total set at 45.5. Los Angeles is the only double-digit favorite in the opening week of the season.
Eleven and a half points against a playoff team on the road is a brutal way to start a rebuild, and it reflects exactly what the market thinks of Arizona’s lines. There is a case for the Cardinals on the number rather than the result, since last season their first five losses all came by four points or fewer before the season unravelled. LaFleur knows this conference well from his time in Los Angeles. Keeping this inside two scores would count as a good day.
Resumo da 1ª semana
Arizona opened the season with a 26-14 win in Los Angeles as an 11.5-point underdog, the largest upset of the Week 1 slate. The Cardeais did it the way rebuilding teams almost never do: by controlling the ball for 37 minutes and 31 seconds and committing zero turnovers. Jacoby Brissett completed 27 of 37 for 277 yards with a touchdown to Trey McBride and no interceptions, posting a 103.1 rating and taking just one sack behind a line that was supposed to be the weak point.
The defense was the story. Nick Rallis’ unit sacked Justin Herbert three times, forced a fumble, picked him off once, stopped the Carregadores de Los Angeles three times on fourth down and blocked a punt. Los Angeles ran only 51 plays and held the ball for under 23 minutes. Walter Nolen and the young interior held a Chargers run game to 81 yards on 21 carries, and the front that everyone expected to be overwhelmed by this division instead dictated terms in the opener.
The margin came from the kicking game. Chade Ryland made four of five field goals, including a 49-yarder with 2:37 remaining that iced it, while Los Angeles never attempted one. Rookie Jeremiyah Love opened the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run on his NFL debut. The discipline is the one thing to fix, with eight penalties for 111 yards, but a 1-0 start against a playoff team is not what anyone had priced in. Arizona hosts the defending Super Bowl champions next.
Semana 2
Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals | Sunday, September 20 | 4:25 PM ET | State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ
Arizona opens as a home underdog at +190 on the moneyline, with the Seattle Seahawks at -230, the spread at 4.5 points and the total at 41.5. Seattle arrives at 1-0 after beating New England 13-10 in the season opener, and the low total reflects two defenses that both looked the part in Week 1.
The market has not moved much on Arizona despite the win, which is the honest read after one game. What has changed is the matchup. Seattle scored 13 points against the Patriots and lost Sam Darnold to a hip injury that will keep him out this week, leaving Drew Lock to run an offense that already had questions at running back. The Cardeais just held a Justin Herbert offense to 268 yards and two touchdowns, and they get to do it at home with a crowd rather than on the road. Four and a half points against a backup quarterback is a number worth a second look.
Chances de ganhar a divisão e o Super Bowl
Probabilidades de ganhar a NFC West: +10000
Chances de ganhar o Super Bowl: +100000
Previsões
Registro geral: The Cardinals project to finish around 4-13, with the win total set at 3.5 after dropping from 4.5 over the summer
Chances de playoff: None the market takes seriously, at +2000 to make the postseason
Chances do Super Bowl: The longest odds in the NFL
This is a bridge season and the organisation is not pretending otherwise. Arizona sits in the same division as the defending Super Bowl champion, the Super Bowl favorite and a 49ers team that won 12 games and finished third, which means six games a year against teams built to win now. The talent is not absent. Harrison, McBride and Love give LaFleur something to build an offense around, and Budda Baker and Will Johnson are real pieces in the secondary. But both lines were dismantled and handed to rookies, and the quarterback who went 1-11 last season is the most likely starter. Expect Arizona to be more competitive than 3-14 suggested and still finish last.
